Maze at Jo-Jo's Community Garden
Jo-Jo's Community Garden was launched in 2017 when the Kassis family of Jo-Jo's Pizza in Stittsville offered the use of the property behind their restaurant on Stittsville Main Street for the garden. It is a non-profit, 100% organic garden in the style of a Potager (or kitchen) garden. Local residents may apply for a plot to grow their own fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers.
Over the past decade, the garden has expanded several times: adding accessible raised beds, an insect hotel, a Food Forest, an Enchanted Forest with fairy gardens, a water distribution system, and a large garden shed for tool storage in the style of a log cabin.
The garden is so much more than just a place to grow food. It has developed into a vibrant community place to connect, learn and volunteer.

As Jo-Jo's Community Garden expanded, a section known as the 'Maze Garden' was added near the adjacent dental office parking lot. Our society was using some space in Jo-Jo's Garden to overwinter native plants for Lee Boltwood Park. Starting in 2026, we are now looking after the maze area for our Native Plants program. It is fast becoming a great place to showcase native plants both for our use and for education about local native plants.
In the maze, you will find native grasses (M4), edible Fruit (M8), familiar and less known plants (M9). The remainder of the maze is in progress.
